Is mdt6 compatible with 2000i? user with 2000i can not use any AM commands when in a 2002 mdt6 dwg.
'unknown command'. however, typing plain commands like offset will work. the mdt6 drawings are using downward save as 2000 dwg too. tia.

Hi,

Vanilla AutoCAD 2000i doesn't have any AM commands. Hence you see a message "Un known command" at the command prompt.

MDT 6 has 3 applications. 1. MDT 6 ( to create 3D parametric) 2. AutoCAD Mechanical 6 (2D Design) 3. AutoCAD 2002. (2D drafting). The first 2 comes with AM commands. The third one is like any other Vanilla AutoCAD which doesn't have AM commands.

You can launch any of them through Windows Start>>Programs>>Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 6>>AutoCAD 2002.

Let me know if you need further information.

Thanks,
