Change Category > Error 303 - No permission

We actually have two problems we are seeing (in Vault Workgroup 2010).

Problem (1)

The first one is an error message when we try to change the category of a drawing and all its associated model files. It says, "Error 303 - You do not have adequate permission to perform this operation." This is confusing, since I am both a Vault administrator and have full read/write permission on the folder.

If we go through and try to change the files categories one-by-one, most of them work but some do not. I haven't noticed anything abnormal about the files that are not changing category.

Having to sift through all the files and change category and state individually is a big burden when dealing with a project with a lot of files. Anyone else seen this problem or know the reason behind it? Any solution?

Problem (2)

One of our users tries to change the state of a drawing and all its associated model files to "Released", but the dialog only shows the drawing as able to release...the model files are grayed out and cannot be released. Instead, they have to be released individually or in small groups as well. The funny thing is...I am able to do it from my machine just fine. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Problem (1) is because you have some files are read only for current log in user. Maybe they are in Released state. By default, file in Released state is read only for everyone even the current user is administrator. You can change them from Released to Work In Progress (Revision will be bumped by default) or change to Quick Change (Revision will not be bumped by default). Then you can change all the files to another category.

Problem (2) is because the drawing file is still using previous revision model files. The drawing file should be opened in the CAD product and use Get Revision command to make it use the current revision model files.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Tommy
