Batch File Migration Utility Crashes

mdt uses AM's engine to migrate files so I'm posting here. Also, I posted on MDT site and got no response; this AM discussion site is more active too. Hope someone can

give a pointer or two;
I started a batch migration of files from MDT3 >MDT2009. The utility chugged away fine for several drawings and then gave me an error in an assembly on its external

references files; it generated a file. Here's some of the content:

External Files: Cannot be Upgraded
The following files cannot be upgraded due to the assembly structure.
Part/Subassembly Path
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HEXBOLT-10X60MM F:\tech\tt2a\tt2 (mdt)\hardware\hex bolts\HexBolt-10x60mm.dwg

I think I need to process the external files first.
---- next day --
The batch utility won't run again. I ran MDT once before using the migration utility the first time. I tried running MDT again and then the utility - no go: Before proceeding to

the second screen, a dialog box gives a safety warning: "If you have not yet backed up your files please exit and backup before proceeding" with 2 buttons, 'exit' and

'continue.' Clicking on either one closes the utility.

I've searched and haven't found anyone with a similar error on this forum, other forums nor the web. The help file doesn't have information about this error.
Today I ran the amdwgmigr.exe directly and not from the shortcut. It ran! It gave a repeated error: " parameter incorrect" It opens AutoCAD Mechanical (not MDT) and

does purges and some other work before trying to save. ACAD gives an error on the save attempt saying the MDT files cannot be modified in AM. The save is disabled. I got

a dialog box to send an error message to AutoDesk. I immediately received an email with a hotfix which I installed by copying the two .dll files to replace the existing ones.

(Open-Save hotfix.). Afterwards, I still had the same problem trying to migrate files.
-- next day -----------
I have not had success yet. Today I will try to download and install all the Service Packs for AutoCAD Mechanical 2009 and hotfixes.
All the SPs installed OK (except none make AM say it's SP level at AMREV or in help menu - program -). The open, save, close hotfix didn't install correctly so I

uninstalled it. It's probably in SP2 anyway. The hotfix to SP3 did not install correctly and uninstalling leaves two errors in AM startup:
"GENPAGE: Cannot load library:
GENPAGE: No information for systemcodepage dos874 found in ge_page.dll"
I cannot find anything on these on this site. The file migration utility still doesn't work. I'm considering uninstalling and reinstalling AM. I understand it's a good idea to

remove all references to AutoCAD/Desk in the registry. I'm afraid this will mess up my IV2009 installation. Maybe I'll have to reinstall that too.
I'm looking for; how to get the migration utility working and how to get rid of the GENPAGE error. I'm running on winxp sp2 Thai.

OK, I did a complete uninstall of all my AutoDesk product and a complete reinstall and installed SPs 1.2.3. The file migration utility is chugging out drawings that can be used in MDT 2009 and IV 2009. Hooray. The utility gives an error; 'the parameter is incorrect' alot; like 46 times for my first test drawing migration. It still works though.

--------------------------- The Next Morning -------------------------------
AutoCAD was open and A dialog box said:
"External Files: Cannot be Upgraded
The following files cannot be upgraded due to the assembly structure.
Part/Subassembly Path
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HEXBOLT-10X60MM F:\tech\tt2a\tt2 (mdt)\hardware\hex bolts\HexBolt-10x60mm.dwg
WASHER-10MM F:\tech\tt2a\tt2 (mdt)\hardware\washers\Washer-10mm.dwg
NUT-10MM F:\tech\tt2a\tt2 (mdt)\hardware\nuts\Nut-10mm.dwg
There are two options:
1) close this document and then upgrade these files separately in the order provided and then reopen this file [G8TT-3000-A1.DWG]
2)Leave the files as is and selcet "OK" to view the file - changes will not be saved.
[Available Buttons in the dialog box:]
[OK, help (which went to an unavailable page), X (close the dialog box) "]
I chose X, which ended up being the same as “OK”.
I guess I should have tried to do something in Acad and left the dialog box alone.
======== Here are my suggestions for improving the dialog box =========
Hi! The file migration program is still running. Your file, G8TT-3000-A1.DWG (which you can see is open in AutoCAD), has some External Files that cannot be migrated because of the assembly structure:
Part/Subassembly Path
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HEXBOLT-10X60MM F:\tech\tt2a\tt2 (mdt)\hardware\hex bolts\HexBolt-10x60mm.dwg
WASHER-10MM F:\tech\tt2a\tt2 (mdt)\hardware\washers\Washer-10mm.dwg
NUT-10MM F:\tech\tt2a\tt2 (mdt)\hardware\nuts\Nut-10mm.dwg
You have two options:
1) Do not touch any button in this dialog box (which is part of the file migration program). In AutoCAD close your file, close AutoCAD, and then rerun the file migration program for these external files separately in the order provided and then reopen this file G8TT-3000-A1.DWG
2)Leave the file as is and select "OK" to view the file - changes will not be saved to the file.
Actually, if you select “OK”, then the file migration program may crash and you’ll need to repair/reinstall your AutoDesk product.
[Available Buttons in the dialog box:]
[OK, Help, X (close the dialog box) "]
===========================================================
[I don’t know yet what to do with the dialog box. Will it close by itself or will I need to push a button or? I don’t know if reopening the G8TT-3000-A1.dwg file really means to re-migrate it]

Now the migration utility will no longer work (crashes before the second page).
ACAD.exe is no longer listed as a running application but it is listed as a running process and using 180 MB.
AdskCleanup.0001 (listed twice) and AdskScSrv.exe are also running processes.
I ended processes Acad.exe (adskcleanup.0001 closed by itself) and AdskScSrv.exe.
amdwgmigr13.exe still doesn't work.
I’ll try repairing reinstalling MDT/AM
