I use Autocad Mechanical 2010. In the past, when I needed to insert a photograph into a cad file, I would use insert and OLE object and the file format would be a bitmap. It doesn't work with 2010. Someone tell me what file format to use and the proper way to insert the file. Thanks

Hm, I have no problem at all to insert a JPG file directly to ACM2K10 - I'm just going to the menu point where I can insert a pixel image reference (hope it's something like that in english version ^.^) and choose a .jpg file or .tiff or whatever, I didn't fint one filetyp that won't work.

So OLE object? What for? It works all fine.

Hi Andre,

Thanks for responding. I don't have the option for pixel image. Under the insert drop down menu what option do you use? I would pick external file and then there are a few options from there that I think are supposed to be other cad program files. Am I even using the right drop down?

Hi there,

I tried to show you how I do this (see attached file) - don't wonder: I'm using german language that's why I translated the necessary options.

However, let me know if it helps.
