Vault Limitations

Good Day All

I am working on a very large project, and am busy with Vault for manufacturing 2010 Implementation. The Vault will look after all Engineering documents, and we are looking at about 400 000 documents over the next 2 years. Can Vault handle this large volume of documents?

I am currently running on SQL Express and want to understand the limitation of SQL Expresss. I know there is a database cap of 4GB. What other restrictions should I look out for??

We will soon have 18 Vault for manufacturing licenses, will vault be able to easily handle this amount of connections?

Please let me know of any other issues I should worry about. I want to make sure that this is a good solution.

Best Regards,

Brett

Hi Brett,

The projected number of documents should not be a concern. Vault has been
used successfully with well over a million documents.

SQL express however is a possible bottleneck for you - in addition to the
database size limitation, express also will only use one CPU and up to 1GB
of memory. You may find this to be limiting as your dataset / user count
increases.
