Design Review 2010 will not open

Hi,

We just deployed ADR 2010 (as part of our Civil3D 2010 deployment) on 17 various workstations. ADR 2010 will not open on any of them. Absolutely nothing happens when we invoke the application via desktop shortcut or even by running the file "DesignReview.exe".
All the workstations greatly exceed minimum hardware system requirements and have Win XP Pro SP3 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
I added the ADR 2010 Hotfix and Hotfix 2 and they made no difference. Civ3D 2010 & DWG Trueview 2010 are working.
We have tried repairing. We have tried uninstalling ADR2010 and re-installing from the on-line installation. No Luck.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. We are not desperately seeking the use of this app since we all have full AutoCAD 2010 products on our workstations but it would be nice if ADR 2010 actually worked.
One other thing I did after ADR 2010 installed, I uninstalled ADR 2009. Reinstalling ADR 2010 should have fixed any possible problems that may have created, Right?

Cheers
Paul

Did you test ADR2010 after install and before removal of ADR2009? Did it
work then?

REVO UNINSTALLER is a freeware that can help, you might as well remove all
traces of all Autodesk content on one test rig, restart Windows, and try
again.

Paul,

We're having this same problem in Calgary. We can pinpoint the problem to the Equitrac 4.1 install. ADR 2010 worked perfectly until then though.

I have two workstations, of roughly 50 with ADR installed, that can still run 2010. One created from an image, and the other running as a virtual machine. Neither had 2009 installed prior to installing ADR 2010.

With Civil 3D 2010, rolling back ADR is not really an option.

After doing a bit more research, we were able to resolve the issue. We removed the software that caused Design Review to fail (Equitrac 4.1), restarted the workstation, launched Design Review with the offending software removed, then reinstalled.

After restarting the machine, Design Review 2010 worked properly, again.

Thanks John. I will give that a try. Now I know why I had no problems on my laptop. I had 3D2010 installed before the Equitrac update. I didn't even know there was an update made to Equitrac. They should probably tell us these things or did they and I missed it? Oh well. Thanks again!

Try opening Design Review as a new task in the Applications tab in the Windows Task Manager.

I was also not able to load Design Rev 2010 after completely uninstalling the 2008 version using Revo and installing 2010. As with the other users, I was unable to open by normal means ie from the desktop, program files etc. However I did notice that Design Rev showed in the Processes on the Windows Task Manager even though it did not show in Applications tab. So it appeared to be running in the background which is odd.

Thanks guys. Removing Equitrac 4.1 then restarting ADR2010 worked. I am sorry (but glad for us) you had the Equitrac update long before we did. Everything works great!

That is good that you now have it working. However, I have the same problem and I don't have Equitec or whatever it is called installed. Any suggestions anyone?
