Is it possible for design review to recognize a GPS device through a usb connection for geospatial mapping.

Yes, done it with a laptop and a DeLorme Earthmate GPS BT-20 model. You need
to set the com port to use the USB port in windows. I forget how I did set
it up but it works and took me a while to figure it out. I'm fixin (that's
US Southern talk for the Brits) to try setting up a Garmin Etrax device in
the next couple of days and see it that works.

Thanks Murph, If this can be resolved it will make some emergency responders very appreciative. Some units do not have built in serial ports for the com and they use usb to GPS for geospatial mapping. So far, the dwf has been well received.
