Problem with hatching

I'm experiencing some hatching problems with Autocad Mechanical 2010.
On some 2D drawings, if I use _amassohatch it fails to detect correctly the contour of the area to hatch (I checked several times that the area is actually closed). If I use _amhatch_45_2, Autocad hangs (I think it goes in a endless loop, as the cpu goes at 100% while it seems there's not memory leaking) and I have to manually terminate the program with the task manager.
I upgraded Autocad to the last service pack, but this problem is still present.

Did anybody incurred on the same issue ???
Any idea to avoid this ???

I have the same problems about 50% of the time. I has become routine for me to save my work before I do ANY hatching, for fear of a total loss of program functionality!

Hi,

Can you attach a sample drawing which has this problem? or send it to sridharDOTsubramaniATautodeskDOTcom

Alternatively using Bpoly command and pick a point in the area you would like to hatch. It will create a boundary and now try to use amassohatch command.

Thanks,

I am experiencing the same problem with _amassohatch and _amhatch_45_2, it seems it doesn't recognizes contours somehow. so I use BHATCH (the old hatch). The con is you need to pick every closed area. Also having problem with amhatch (solid), it is doing some weird stuffs like hatching two closed area, knda leaking in some way even though the area is closed.
