Sub-assemblies won't balloon

MDT 2008 SP2
When trying to balloon a medium sized assembly with several external referece parts and some small external reference sub-assemblies, the individual parts balloon okay but the subs do not. The subs lack the BOM part marker to select. It seems like I have been able to balloon subs in the past but it is not working now.

It sometimes happening with my MDT6.0 too.
I just delete BOM from ASSY three and rebaloon assy.

See if this helps.
Type AMBOM and expand all the sub assembles. Then try again.
You may have to go to each sub and create a BOM also if that doesn't work.

Hi,

Ballooning sub assembly along with parts is possible when the BOM type is set to Structured view type. Find attached image for more info.

I never did get the assembly to balloon properly. Another nearly identical assembly, using the same sub-assemblies, balloons fine so there must be something wrong with the assembly file. I ended up using exploded balloons and manually altering the BOM to meet my deadline.
