different versions = different lineweights

We just discovered a problem with different versions of the dwf viewer
software yesterday... I'm wondering if anyone knows of a "fix" somewhere for
this or a setting that can change it.

We created a 3-page dwf file by publishing from autocad. Then we opened the
dwf file in the latest version of Design Review and printed it to our
copier.
Then we opened that same dwf file on a different computer which is running
an older version of a dwf viewer and printed it to the same copier.

The printed output from the older version of the dwf viewing software has
very noticably darker lineweights.

We went back and verified that all print settings were the same in both
instances.
I then went and found an old print of the same drawing, from the same
copier, done with yet a third version (older) of the dwf viewer software and
the lineweights on that print were in between the two previous ones.

This was noticed because we created a multi-page pdf file from a multi-page
dwf file and the pdfs were printed much lighter than they had the previous
go-around with these files.

If the dwf viewer can't be trusted to output consistant results then we
won't be able to rely on it from this point forward.....
Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks,

Paul

You managed not to list exact versions or output device/driver in your long
post.

I didn't list the output device because it doesn't appear to matter; I've
tried it on three different plotter/copiers here with the same results.
The viewer versions are the latest one (Design Review 10), TrueView 8, and
one other version that I don't have access to check on right now.

You did not mention trying other devices in your first post, another
omission.

ADR10 and TV8: are you doing more than just opening a dwf and printing? Any
other settings being used or forced?

Just opening a dwf and printing. All print settings were identical.

Does TV8 actually open DWF files? I have an old PC with TV7, and it does
not.

Are you trying to print DWG files to dwf with those two apps?

TV8 worked fine here on aca08 created dwf files.

I just used Publish in aca08, and ticked the "publish to dwf" button, to
create the dwf. The same .dsd file was used to create the dwf to ensure the
page setups used to make the dwf were identical as well
