Property Merge is not appearing in my Vault Manufacturing.
Is this 'working as intended'?

This feature is no longer needed.

If an indexed file property is mapped to a User Defined Property it
should not show up in the dialogs (with the expectation of
administration).

By mapping one or more file properties to a UDP you are in effect
merging them.

So, if I understand correctly, this is the new workflow?

pre-2010: 4 properties called Title1, select all 4 and say 'merge'.

2010: 4 properties called Title1: create a 'UDP' called Title1, then associate all Title1 properties to this UDP?

Seems like more work.

While it is more steps for the administrator to setup it provides much
more functionality.

Hi Mikel,
I am trying this in Vlt Mfg 2010. I have properties that came from indexed ACAD title blocks. They come in as 3 instances of TITLE LINE 1(A) because of 3 different block names.

I can see and search on the TITLE LINE 1(A) & TITLE#1(A) attributes after checking in the ACAD file.

I created a User defined Property “Title1”

Mapped the ACAD block attributes to "Title1" as show in the attached image.

"Title1" column is blank in the file grid and I can not search on those properties anymore!

I have the same problem with other ACAD attributes. Even the ones from the default ACADE dataset.

Hi Josh

Did you try assigning category to your UDP "Title1" and the rest of procedure described on http://crackingthevault.typepad.com/crackingthevault/2009/09/user-property-value-doesnt-appear-in-vault.html ?

I had a similar problem and this resolved...

Thanks, I did figure it out but a while ago. I had categories set but my problem was that I did not check the files in and out again.

Sorry I forgot to post the fix.
