Cannot login into Vault via INV 2010

I am currently unable to login to vault 2010 via Inventor 2010. I continually get unable to find the localhost server.
I believe that both the ADMS and vault explore are working ok, as I can login in the workspace i.e. localhost fine using vault explore and both checkin and checkout files to the local workspace correctly.
I am sure that it is a simple setting that I have missed, help from anyone will be appreciated.

It might be firewall or anti-virus settings on your host machine. Please check your firewall and ensure that Port 80 is not blocked.

In addition to Alan's suggestions, try using "127.0.0.1" instead of "localhost" as the server name - I think this has worked for some folks.

I have been using Inventor 2009 for the past couple of months so this problem has been on the back burner. However we are now looking to start a new project in Inventor 2010.
I have attached both the Precheck log from installation and the current test run logs which is posted on the next thread.
I have tried to login using server localhost, 127.0.0.1 and also 10.0.0.8 which the logs suggest is the machines IP address. All of them return the error "Autodesk Inventor 2010 could not find the Data Management Service on localhost", etc.
I have search the net for a solution to this problem, but all suggest don't. I just don't understand how, it works fine with Inventor 2009, AutoCAD 2009, AutoCAD 2010, Mechanical 2010. It is just a problem with Inventor 2010 professional.
While I know my way around inventor pretty well, I have little to no knowledge of the vaults so help in getting this sorted with be greatly appreciated.
Also to note for the Autodesk guys, the most disappointing thing about this is the lack of support offered by the Autodesk Certified Support and Reseller Companies. It seems as though any person/company can be certified with little to knowledge of the Autodesk products if a question is raised with our support contractor they always appear to have the response, we'll get back to you or we'll have to email autodesk about that one.

Hello,
Thank you for posting. You say everything works well for your 2009 products but not Autodesk Inventor 2010. Can I assume that the Autodesk Data Management Server that you have installed is the 2009 product? If this is the case, then the configuration you are trying to use is not supported. Inventor 2010 cannot connect to a 2009 server.
Regards, Adam

No the Software is Vault 2010 and ADMS 2010, with the addin, that allows the software to work with the 2009 products. As noted in the post, vault works fine with Mechanical and AutoCAD 2010.

Thank you for clarifying. Given the error you received, I assume that you have installed the ADMS on the same machine as your Inventor 2010 application. Is that correct?
If you prefer you can email me directly: adam.luttenbacher@autodesk.com

Adam,
Yes you are correct, I have the ADMS and Vault installed on the same machine. I use the vault to better control my files and enable easier backup of the entire filestores and moving of files when required. Would this problem have anything to do with the Addin for Inventor 2009. We have a second machine which is setup the same way, expect the 2009 addin is not installed, and login into the machine is not a problem.

I have never seen the upgrade patch affecting the latest addin nor have I heard any cases of this happening, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening for you. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the 'Autodesk Inventor 2010 Add-In' from the 'Add or Remove Features' dialog.
