Linked AutoCAD file is half tone

I wish to link in an AutoCAD file that contains all my appropriate HVAC annotations for a drawing. However, unless I link it into an Architectural view, the file is half tone and plots out far, far too light to be of any use.
I have tried, with no success, to get all my ductwork and equipment to show up in an Architectural view.
Is there an option I've missed, a button I haven't found, a dance I haven't done to get a linked AutoCAD drawing to display normally in an HVAC Floor Plan view?
I'm using Revit MEP 2009.

Sorry to answer a question with more questions but...
Why are you linking in your annotations and not doing them in Revit in the first place?
Are you planning to upgrade to Revit 2010? It will allow you to set the darkness of the half tone.
You can also use a coordination view to get everything to come in dark, but you will sacrifice vire detail. No hidden lines, etc.

The short answer: So that they match company standards.
We currently are not planning on upgrading. Though it sounds like 2010 will have many nice improvements.
I found the coordination view, but that gets rid of hidden lines. Rather annoying, really...
Ultimately, I have linked the annotation AutoCAD drawing into a Drafting View, and then aligned that on top of the relevant HVAC view placed on the sheet. This produces the desired effect, even if it is a bit rough.

Another question - why haven't you updated the annotation symbols you your standards? the amount of effort you're going to have to put in continually updating the Autocad annotation, you may as well stay with that format and not bother with revit

Time and know-how. There is someone working on getting the annotation up to snuff, it's just slow going and Revit is in its infancy at my company. I wish the annotation were already there, believe me.

It sounds like you have an oppertunity to promote youreslf within your company.
Revit annotation is pretty straightforward. Have you considered working out the annotation yourself on the job. If you balance the effort against the time you are spending going back and forward to AutoCAD it could work out cost neutral.
Sorry the kiwis are ganging up on you :-D

This is a limitation of 2009. 2010 no longer does this. If you DO want the linked .dwg to half tone in 2010, you can set it as such in the Visibility Graphics for the link.

From what I've experienced is that when you link/import a CAD drawing into Revit MEP the half tone issue appears when you insert the work into a view. If you link/import the CAD drawing into a Sheet it will come in the way you expect it. You could also click on the link and explode it and the half tone goes away but...... I Don't know if this is the best approach. Hope this helps.
