Tilt-Up Wall Panels

I'm trying to model a concrete Tilt-Up building in Revit Architecture 2009. The wall panels have a 1/2" caulk gap between them, however when I create the panels with the 1/2" seperation, Revit automatically merges the individual panels into one solid length of wall.

Is there a way to retain the individuality of each panel without creating it as it's own object and placing it in the model?

You could try using a curtain wall with custom panels and mullions or you could use a standard wall, ignoring the paneling, and use model lines or wall-hosted families to represent the joints or you could make each panel in the family editor. None are perfect and which you use will depend heavily on what your needs are. If you need to schedule them the model line idea won't work. If you need to dimension each panel apart from the wall (like in a legend view) you'll need to make each of them families. You might consider using all of them at various stages of the design starting with a wall and model lines, moving to curtain walls and panels and finally ending up using families.
